New Search Engine Companion Rejuvenates
Internet Users' Search
Experience With Meaningful Display Of Search Results
BIGontheNet Pte Ltd, a leading provider
of innovative Internet search products and solutions, today unveiled p-ZOOM, the
first-ever search engine companion to provide Internet users with a meaningful,
hierarchical display of search results across multiple search engines, at DEMO 2004. The
web browser-embedded search engine companion provides the ability to "zoom"
ahead pages of search results returned by the search engines and cluster them into
meaningful folders of similar topics, without restricting users' access to their favorite
p-ZOOM rejuvenates the otherwise tedious
search experience. Instead of scrolling through page after page of search results, p-ZOOM
automatically clusters the search results information into hierarchical topic folders, and
displays these topics within the web browser to provide the user with a seamless
search-and-find experience. p-ZOOM lets the user decide at a glance whether the contents
of the folder are of any interest before zooming in on them.
p-ZOOM is the only search engine
companion that offers more than just refined search results. The user can personalize his
search experience and express his moods with an extensive collection of template designs.
"Ideally, searching and gathering
information on the Internet should be effective, fast and easy," said Viktor Cheng,
founder and CEO of BIGontheNet Pte Ltd. "If the search engine industry were to
realize its promise of a brighter future, searching must be made less painful and
time-consuming than it often is today. BIGontheNet addresses this need with p-ZOOM, a
solution that makes searching for information on the web a refreshingly less tedious
The architecture of the p-ZOOM search
engine companion enables it to dynamically cluster the search results as soon as they
arrive from the search engine, while making use of a Windows Explorer-style navigational
interface. This familiar point-and-click interface allows for easy access, fast
interaction and does not require the user to spend too much time relearning and adapting
to new interfaces.
"With the amount of information
available on the Internet continually increasing, the ability to look for relevant
information without spending too much time becomes impossible," said Chris Shipley,
Executive Producer of DEMO 2004. "p-ZOOM improves Internet users' search experience
by allowing them to drill-down through topics to locate the information they need, while
still using their favorite search engines - a first for the industry."
p-ZOOM supports all-time favorite search
engines including Google(TM), MSN(TM) and Yahoo!(R), for both Windows 2000 and XP
platforms. p-ZOOM will be released for sale in the Chinese, Japanese and Korean markets in
the near future.

BIGontheNet is a leading provider of innovative Internet search products and
solutions. The company's flagship product is, ZOOM, a search engine companion designed to
improve Internet users' search experience by allowing them to navigate to search results
quickly and efficiently. The software "zooms" ahead of page after page of search
results so that the user no longer has to do tedious scrolling. Using automated clustering
of search results information into hierarchical topic folders; ZOOM clusters and displays
these topics within the web browser so as to provide the user with a seamless
search-and-find experience. Each topic has a label, such as "Digital Camera
Reviews", which can be used by search engines as paid keywords for which they serve
out advertisements when the topic folder is clicked. Because ZOOM offers this fine
granularity of targeted advertising, search engine companies can use it to create new
advertising revenue streams. ZOOM supports most popular web search engines such as
Google(TM), MSN(TM) and Yahoo!(R). Apart from English, ZOOM also supports Chinese,
Japanese, and Korean search engines. ZOOM is currently available in three flavors: p-ZOOM
(personal version offering choice of search engines and templates for personalized display
of hits results); Sponsored ZOOM (ZOOM application with customized template for
advertising and branding purposes); Bundled ZOOM (ZOOM integrated with search engines so
as to offer the integrated clustering experience with the specific search engine). For
